01a. What is Rediff Bol?

Rediff Bol is an Instant Messenger where you can chat with your online friends in real time, talk with them, change your identity by using the Avatar feature and much more.

01b. Is Rediff Bol free?

Yes Rediff Bol is a free instant messenger.

02a. What are the minimum operating system and hardware requirements to run Rediff Bol?

The minimum requirements to run Rediff Bol are a P3, 800 MHz, 128 MB RAM, Operating System Windows 98/ upwards, full duplex sound card. A good headset is recommended.

03a. How do I install Rediff Bol?

To install Rediff Bol, you have to first download Rediff Bol. Click on the "Open" button in the dialog box as soon as the download is over and the installation of Rediff Bol will begin.

03b. I have installed Rediff Bol, but I still cannot see the Bol Icon?

During the installation process you might have unchecked the "Create a desktop Icon" option. You need to uninstall the program and re-install Rediff Bol once again. This time, make sure that you check on "Create a desktop Icon".

04a. I already have the previous version of Rediff Bol. How do I upgrade to the new version?

You can download the new Bol and use it along with the existing old Bol.

05a. I am not able to do an audio chat nor has my messenger connected to the Internet?

You may not be able to connect to Rediff Bol messenger if you are behind a Firewall where in the Port 1863 is blocked. Also, if the UDP ports are blocked, then you will not be able to have an audio chat.

05b. I am not able to send files from my computer to other buddies.
You will not be able to send / transfer files if the TCP port is blocked.

06a. What should I do if my computer hangs/ crashes while using Rediff Bol?
If the computer crashes, first try using the command
Ctrl + Alt + Del and end the Rediff Bol task. If the problem still persists, you might have to re-boot the computer.
