The New York-based beverages major Pepsico is working towards introducing its Diet Cola in 500ml and one litre pet packages in India.

The company, which had earlier this week, launched the Diet Cola in 300ml cans, is studying its existing pet sizes. The pricing for the packages is yet to be finalised.

Industry sources pointed out that internationally, Diet Cola is priced at par with the normal cola. However, in India, the can was launched at an introductory price of Rs 15, which is lower than Rs 18 for a normal cola can.

P M Sinha, chairman of Pepsico India Holdings Limited, said, ''We are totally committed to meeting the demands and needs of our consumers.''

The 330ml Diet Pepsi can was launched in the capital today, to coincide with several World Cup initiatives that have been unleashed recently. Diet Pepsi can contains just one calorie and incorporates a sweetener blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium that ensures ''the same great taste'' of Pepsi.

The advertising for Diet Pepsi coincides with the World Cup Super Sixes.
