Ramesh S Damani : Look promising.

anshuman : hello. how do you see it players coping with heavy margin pressures if they enter into bpo etc?
Ramesh S Damani : It would be a problem for firms like INFY. They will go through JVs. However look for pure plays. Low margins, but stable business

Abhay : these regulating bodies such as SEBI make investigations without any results but give them publicity. Dont you think this harms investment environment?
Ramesh S Damani : It is a trifle disappointing.

roshan : in IT enabled which companies do you like ?
Ramesh S Damani : Check the transcripts. I have said them many times.

rajat : Rolta's results are good. so why is its price depressed
Ramesh S Damani : Lack of management fancy.

hi : what about hdfc secutirty to by shares online
Ramesh S Damani : I have not used the service.

Ayan Shah : Rameshji, Do you suggest exiting out of IBP around 480 levels and switching to Mcdowell for more percentage gain??
Ramesh S Damani : I would wait for divestment. Could get a great price.

SauravJalan : Dear Mr Damani.. I am a Commerce student and want to pursue a career in Mkt Analysis .Can you advice how to proceed.
Ramesh S Damani : Start reading a lot and learn to think for yourself.

Gayatri : Hi Ramesh, What's your opinion about the new listed index fund, Nifty BeES
Ramesh S Damani : It is a very exciting product. Keep an eye on it.

anshuman : so, now that you are bullis on bpo, does this mean that software services will drive growth of the main indian software exporters. isnt the potential enormous even in indian companies providing software services to global giants
Ramesh S Damani : Has any one attended the IT Enabled conference in Bangalore. Give us a review.

alok : Dear Mr. Damani, Anirudh Sethi says that tmt stocks are going to be subdued till 28 Jan, and after that they will be in favour again! Do you think it's going to happen?
Ramesh S Damani : It's hard to predict dates.

osama : , how can one use the nifty BEES for arbitrage & how can it be done
Ramesh S Damani : Use it as a proxy for the market. Buy spot and sell futures.

anshuman : india could be the world's backoffice but do you see no real competition coming in from other asian countries or is it just that we are a bit ahead?
Ramesh S Damani : India has a huge competitive advantage. As long as the govt helps, we should be okay.

alok : in the IT enabled seminar it was projected that IT-enabled services in India are projected to grow at a decent rate of over 70 per annum for the next 4-5 years! i think this was the crux of what was said in the seminar!
Ramesh S Damani : That would be great news for the sector.

harip : Hi ramesh, I have been observing you for a long time. You are doing pretty good job. Please keep up the good work. Also can u throw some light on Amara Raja Batteris? Thanks
Ramesh S Damani : Thanks for your kind words.I don't follow Amara Raja.

anshuman : are you not disappointed with lack of mergers by indian it giants. i mean even at current rates, infy and wipro have got market caps which humble those of sapient. what's the way ahead for mergers by indian it giants?
Ramesh S Damani : Yes. However look how we treat people trying to buy stakes Eg VST. We should encourage mergers. We discourage them.

Maulik : hello sir, there have been a lot of unanswered questions on rel petro, please answer one
Ramesh S Damani : Rel Petro is an expensive stock in terms of market cap. Good values are available.

kimdurai : How do you rate Infy q3 results? How doe you expect Wipro to perform?
Ramesh S Damani : Dissappointing in terms of outlook.INFY must grow or it will becomea mediocore co,

Bull : Hello Mr Damani, How do you see the market in the coming days in light of the fading of the war clouds. Also, how do you think the budget this year will be - progressive or populist.
Ramesh S Damani : It will have a huge fiscal deficit. Not 5.1 as projected. That would be negative.

mahesh : hi sir to repeat my question do you think pharma stocks like Dr.reddy is a good buy and what is the direction pharma stocks will take in the next six months
Ramesh S Damani : Dr Reddy should do well over the next few month. No great trends are visible at the time in pharma.

anshuman : with software services getting so commoditised, in the long-run, do you think there can be a chance that infy or other firms become the offshore arms of giants like ibm, sapient or other global majors.
Ramesh S Damani : It could happen. However Infy is still to richly capitalised for that to happen.

Rambo : Rameshji is it woth switching from main it to It enabled services co ??
Ramesh S Damani : I would do it. IT Enabled has the future

sun : do you like kale and what do you advise
Ramesh S Damani : I am keeping an eye on it.

Malayhirani : can any FII can take a controlling stake in any Indian bank ! if yes which bank they can invest because i have one proposal from A investment hloding company
Ramesh S Damani : I dont think current regulations allow that. They can take a minority stake only.

Ganesh : Sir, Iam planning to invest in VSNL. Do you think privatisation of VSNL will have any impact on the price.
Ramesh S Damani : This is a tough call. I own some VSNL and am optimistic on its prospects post disinvestment

AJAY : RPL SO MANY TIMES I HAVE REPLIED THAT IF WAR RPL GOES DOWN IF NO WAR THEN UPIDE UPTO 50
Ramesh S Damani : I am not that bullish on it. It is an expensive stock at currentmarket cap. Petro chem is nota hot sector.

alok : do you think kale consultants is worth investing at current prices of Rs. 56?
Ramesh S Damani : I am keeping an eye on it. Let's see what our research shows up.

Ayan Shah : Which major stocks in your portfolio you just hold and doesn't go for trading at current prises???just a couple of names pls....
Ramesh S Damani : I have held EServe and BEL forsome time.

kopparapun@rediffmail.com : Dear Rameshji,How long do you think India can sustain its advantage in software, with the chinese making quick inroads in software development.
