Standard Bank Triangular series in South Africa

Sourav GangulySourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar have steamrolled better teams and on Wednesday, the Kenyans realized how much they hurt the Indians by inflicting that shock defeat on them.
An record opening partnership by the dynamic duo ensured India reach a total (351-3) that the Kenyans would not even attempt to chase.
Kenya could only muster 165 in their 50 overs and all the hype about the possibility of Kenya reaching the final was dead and buried long before the match ended.
With the final in Durban on Saturday India will be looking to avert yet another final defeat, having lost 8 (finals) in a row

Allan Donald has been ruled out of the SA squad to play three Tests against India. Donald has been plagued by injuries and health troubles in the past year has now suffered a side strain that will take at least 6 weeks to heal. He hopes to be fit by the time the South Africans leave for Australia.

The England Tour of India

Ashley Giles has joined the group of England players who said they would not be making the tour of India.
Giles who has been troubled by an Achilles tendon problem since England tour of Sri Lanka last year however said he hasn't really made the final decision.
Graham Thorpe, all-rounder Craig White and fast bowler Andrew Caddick have been the leading critics of the decision for the trip to go ahead. Middle order batsman Usman Afzal however said he would definitely make the tour.

Nasser HussainEngland skipper Nasser Hussain's father yesterday said that he expected his son to lead England on the tour to the country of his birth.
Hussain senior said that although his son had expressed his doubts over making the tour, he would be leading the side.
Nasser's father Joe said it was a lifetime ambition of his to see Nasser captain an England side to the India. Sixty two year old Hussain senior, who runs an indoor cricket school in Ilford, east London said he would be visiting India as well.

Former India captain Ajit Wadekar came out with strong words criticising the Englishmen for their attitude over touring India.
He stated that the security concerns were just an excuse and the real fear was of losing badly on turning Indian tracks.
He said the moaning was typically English, whether it was about food, water, weather, transportation or something else. England were beaten 3-0 on their last tour of India.

Damien MartynAustralia's Damien Martyn suffered a thigh strain with just two weeks to go before the first Test against New Zealand in Brisbane.
Martyn suffered the injury while playing a one-day game for Western Australia against Tasmania and needed a runner.
Martyn made 108. Although he has been struggling to find a permanent place Martyn impressed with good performances against England when he replaced and inconsistent Michael Slater in the side.

The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Sharjah for the tri-nation series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe haunted by allegations of match fixing.
Pakistan's new coach Mudassar Nazar said the ongoing inquiry by Justice Bhandari has caused a lot of stress to many of the players of the current squad, and a bad name for the country.

The West Indies Cricket Board is likely to lose around $300,000 on the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka due to the new revenue sharing scheme rule of the ICC.
Under the new rules the host nation and the ICC share most of the revenues involving Test match tours.
The ICC believes that the touring teams will not be faced with losses as according to the ICC 10 year plan all tours will be played on a home and away basis and with reciprocal tours every country will have their share in making profits.

The ACB on Wednesday unveiled the first ICC Test Championship Trophy that was awarded to Australia earlier this year at its headquarters in Melbourne. The Trophy will be kept the in ACB boardroom in Melbourne.
