England's tour of India

England beat India in Mumbai by five runs on Sunday, to earn a nail-biting 3-3 draw in the six-match series. Marcus Trecothick scored a brilliant 95 to set up a solid platform for the English batsmen but they collapsed to 255/9 in their alloted overs. The Indian innings followed a similar pattern as the batting collapsed after a good start to give England victory.

Triangular in Australia

VB Triangular Series, Perth: Australia 283-7 (50 overs) beat South Africa 250-5 (50 overs) by 33 runs. Australia failed to qualify for the final of their annual triangular one-day competition for only the third time as Jacques Kallis compiled an excellent 104 not out at the WACA.

Waugh joined New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming in calling for a review of the tournament's bonus point system.
"At the start of the series, it seemed like a very good idea," Waugh said.
"But, at the end of the series, you have got to see how it affected the games and whether that is good for cricket.
"I think they need to have a good look at it."

Steve Waugh's reign as captain will be reviewed after Australia failed to make the tri-nation finals despite a courageous victory over South Africa at the WACA Ground.

Australia's selectors are expected to make a ruthless overhaul of limited-over operations just 12 months away from the World Cup defence in South Africa.

Steve Elworthy has suffered a groin strain in the warm-ups for Friday’s match against New Zealand and the recovery period is about 10 days, said SA national team physio Craig Smith in Perth on Sunday. Due to the injury Elworthy will now be out of the finals.

Pakistan vs West Indies

First Test, Sharjah, day four: Pakistan 493 & 214-6 declared; West Indies 366 & 24-0

Things went according to plan for skipper Waqar Younis as Pakistan put themselves in position to press for victory at cricket's newest Test venue.
He picked up four wickets in 28 balls during the morning session to wrap up West Indies' first innings and then saw his batsmen score quickly enough to enable him to declare 10 overs before the close.
