India in West Indies

Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, left to ponder yet another failure by a touring Indian Test side, said there must be something wrong in the psyche of his players.

"We did well in Trinidad but did not keep up the same levels of consistency in the other matches," he said.

We've had some good individual performances in the series, but you know that is not good enough - we need match-winning performances from everyone, especially when we are under pressure."

The West Indies have won the deciding Test in Jamaica against India to claim the series 2-1. The final day at Sabina Park began with the home side needing just three wickets to wrap up victory.

And there were worries for the home side when a prompt resumption was prevented by coastal rain in Jamaica.

But when play did eventually start, the Windies paceman quickly wrapped up the innings to give their side a much needed victory.

West India seamer Adam Sanford is disappointed not to be selected for the West Indian ODI squad to play in the first two matches at Sabina Park.

"I am disappointed at not being selected for the one-day internationals," Sanford admitted. "I guess it is part of the game. I have to improve in certain areas in my bowling and I will be working on it."

West Indian seamer Pedro Collins regarded his dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar in India's second innings in Kingston, Jamaica, as a great achievement.

"I would say it's a great achievement. Any bowler would like to get the wicket of one of the best batsmen in the world," Collins said.

The left-arm seamer confessed to a simple plan to dismiss the world's premier batsman. "He has not been having a great time with the bat, so my aim was just to put the ball in the right spot and try to get him out," said Collins.

"I was getting the ball to do a little bit and he (Tendulkar) was trying to run me down to third man and I decided to go around the wicket and angle the ball into him, instead of away from him.

"I put my mind to it and ran in a little harder and got my reward," the 25-year-old added.

Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik says he will go to the Supreme Court in his fight to overturn a life ban from the game.

The ban and a one million rupee fine were imposed two years ago following Justice Qayyum's investigation into match-fixing allegations against a number of Pakistan players. And Malik's appeal against it was rejected by the High Court in Lahore on Tuesday.

Allan Donald has been cleared by the United Cricket Board of South Africa to play for Worcestershire later this summer.

The English county only require the services of the veteran paceman from 4-16 June. The deal was announced last week but was then thrown into doubt by UCBSA boss Gerald Majola on Tuesday.

But Majola has now given his consent.
