Rain delays start of second day's play

December 05, 2003 04:45 IST

Rain delayed the start of second day's play on Friday of the first Test between India and Australia played at Gabba, Brisbane.

The play was scheduled to start at 0430 hours IST to compensate for the loss of time due to rain delays on the first day.
Australia had dominated the first day's play making the Indian seam attack look pedestrian.

When bad light eventually ended the day's play, Australia were placed in a position of strength at 262-2 off 62 overs with opener Justin Langer undefeated on 115 and Damien Martyn, looking keen to make a tall score, on 36.
