Sachin Tendulkar survived twice in his knock of 44 and put on 87 runs with Dravid for the third wicket. But looking to get his maiden fifty of the series, the master batsman drove at a Brad Williams delivery that was swinging outside the off-stump and was caught behind six short of the mark.
It ended a mediocre Test year for Tendulkar, who scored only 153 runs in five Tests.
