Taking exception to the Indian cricket team's run of embarrassing defeats in the present tour of New Zealand, Sports Minister Vikram Verma on Monday called for a 'review' of the poor performance of the players.

"Cricket is a game of uncertainties, but there is a need to find out why all the batsmen failed in New Zealand," the minister told reporters in Guna in Madhya Pradesh.

The Indians were humiliated 0-2 in the Test series and have lost the first four ODI's of the seven-match series.

Verma also said that there was no possibility of an early resumption of cricketing ties with Pakistan and India will consider reviewing its stand only after the neighbour stops sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

"There is no question of India playing cricket matches with Pakistan as long as they continue to sponsor cross-border terrorism," he said.

He maintained that India could play against Pakistan in third country venues, in tournaments organised by the International Cricket Council.
