The West Indian renaissance?

An attacking left-hand opening batsman from Grenada, Devon Smith was drafted into the West Indies squad ahead of the Test series against India, in March 2002, but he only made his debut against the world champions, after scoring 750 runs for Windward Islands in the Busta Cup. Smith has a promising pedigree and goes for his shots.

He averaged just 23.62 in the series but showed glimpses of his talent while making 62 in the first Test.
