The Trans-Tasmanian rivalry between New Zealand and Australia will take place on Indian shores. Australian captain Ricky Ponting will be hoping to win the battle of minds against Kiwi skkiper Stephen Fleming.

Fifth ODI

After being thrashed in the first match by Australia at Faridabad, New Zealand were looking to rack up a huge total at Pune. But their hopes were severely dented with fast bowler Brad Williams claiming four wickets in the first 8 overs of the match.

The Kiwis would have been in even deeper trouble if Ian Harvey had held on to a sharp chance from Kiwi skipper Stephen Fleming.

In the 20th over, Fleming tried to turn a good length delivery, pitched on middle and leg, to the leg side and only managed to get a leading edge back to the bowler. The ball hit the finger tips of Harvey before bouncing away towards mid-on.

Fleming, then on 18, survived and so did New Zealand's hopes.
