Chopra dropped, Ganguly or Yuvraj to open

April 12, 2004 14:15 IST

India today dropped opener Akash Chopra and all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, but a decision on who will open the innings in the series-deciding Test against Pakistan remains to be taken.

Announcing the playing eleven in Rawalpindi, skipper Sourav Ganguly said, "It was a tough call to leave out Chopra. But it is still not decided who will open the innings tomorrow. It could either be me or Yuvraj Singh."

Agarkar has been replaced by left-arm quick bowler Ashish Nehra.

The team: Sourav Ganguly (c), Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid (v-c), Yuvraj Singh, V V S Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, Parthiv Patel (wk), Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, L Balaji, Ashish Nehra
