Zimbabwe post lowest ODI total

Rajneesh Gupta | April 26, 2004

The young Zimbabwe side was bundled out for a world record lowest score of 35 in 89 minutes and 18 overs in the third match of five-match One-Day International series against Sri Lanka in Harare on Sunday.

As many as four Zimbabwean batsmen failed to open their account and none of the eleven could reach double figures. In fact, the highest score was only seven by Dion Ebrahim.

Left arm pace bowler Chaminda Vaas claimed four wickets for 12 runs (taking his career tally to 301), while debutant Farveez Maharoof ended with dream figures of 3 wickets for 3 runs in his 3 overs.

Zimbabwe thus displaced Canada from the top position in the list of lowest team totals. Canada had made 36, also against Sri Lanka, in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa.
