We need to get better to break the 'final' jinx, says Dravid

Vice captain Rahul Dravid said he was clueless about what happens to the Indian team in title clashes and accepted that skipper Sourav Ganguly and his men needed to get better to break the jinx.

"If I know the exact solutions to the problem, we would have tried to sort it out," Dravid said on the 'jinx' factor.

India have won only once in 13 finals under Ganguly's captaincy.

"We need to keep improving... try to get better (in the finals)," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Bangalore.

"It's an area we need to get better at, we need to improve and we accept that we have not played as well as we would like to".

"That's for everyone to see," he said on India's repeated inability to cross the final hurdle. "We accept that we need to get better in that area, and hopefully we will".

Dravid said a "lot of lessons" needed to be learnt by the team from the recent Asia Cup final, in which India lost to Sri Lanka despite a gettable score of 229.

"We should have played better in the final. We got to be able to execute the plans when we are playing in the finals. We have not been able to achieve that. Hopefully, we will do so (execute the plans well) in the next few games," he said.

Dravid was at the function to inaugurate "Castrol BikeZone" workshop, one of the first branded motorcycle servicing workshops of the automotive lubricant company.
