Highest Test chases versus India

Rajneesh Gupta | December 13, 2005 18:31 IST

India on Tuesday set Sri Lanka [Images] a daunting task of scoring 436 runs in the fourth innings to win the Delhi Test.

Only once a team has achieved a target of 300 or more runs in the fourth innings of a Test and that was way back in 1977-78 when Australia chasing a victory target of 339 runs won the match by 2 wickets.

The highest target successfully chased by a side against India in India is only 276 (by West Indies [Images] at Delhi in 1987-88).
