Statistical highlights: India vs New Zealand

Statistical highlights of the Super Eight match between India and New Zealand [Images] in Twenty20 World Cup cricket in Johannesburg on Sunday.

- New Zealand's 190 is the highest score by any team against India in Twenty20 games, eclipsing Pakistan's 141 for 7 at Kingsmead on 14.9.2007.

- For the first time, India claimed all ten wickets of their opponents.

- Daniel Vettori's [Images]  figures (4-0-20-4) are the best at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, surpassing Bangladesh's Shakib-Al-Hasan's 4 for 34 against West Indies [Images] on 13.9.2007.

- Overall, Vettori's figures are the fourth best in Twenty20 Internationals, next only to New Zealand's Mark Gillespie's 4 for 7 against Kenya at Durban on 12.9.2007, Mohammad Asif's [Images] 4 for 18 against India at Durban on 14.9.2007 and Shahid Afridi's [Images] 4 for 19 against Scotland at Durban on 12.9.2007.

- Yuvraj Singh [Images] earned a dubious distinction of conceding 25 runs in an over (6,6,1,6,4,2) to Jacob Oram [Images] and Craig McMillan [Images] - the most conceded by an Indian bowler.

- Only New Zealand's Daryl Tuffey (30 vs Australia at Auckland on 17.2.2005) and Kenya's Lameck Onyango (29 vs. Sri Lanka [Images] at Johannesburg on 14.9.2007) have conceded more runs in an over than Yuvraj.

- In New Zealand's innings, four batsmen - Styris, McMillan, Bond and Patel - were run out, which is a new record in Twenty20 Internationals, eclipsing three run-outs in Sri Lanka's innings against England [Images] at Rose Bowl on 15.6.2006.

- India (180/9) registered their highest ever total in Twenty20 Internationals, improving on their 141 for 9 against Pakistan at Durban on 14.9.2007.

- India's 10-run defeat is their first in Twenty20 Internationals.

- Harbhajan Singh [Images] (2/24) produced his best bowling performance, bettering his 1 for 22 against South Africa at Johannesburg on 1.12.2006.

- R P Singh (2/29) also produced his best performance, bettering his 1 for 22 against Pakistan at Kingsmead on 14.9.2007.

- Gautam Gambhir [Images] (51 off 33 balls) registered the highest ever score for India in Twenty20 Internationals. Robin Uthappa's 50 off 39 balls against Pakistan at Kingsmead on 14.9.2007 was the previous best.

- The first wicket partnership of 76 between Gambhir and Virender Sehwag [Images] is a record for India, bettering the 17 between Sehwag and Tendulkar against South Africa in Johannesburg on 1.12.2006.

- Sehwag's strike rate of 235.29 is the third best in an innings of 40 or more, next only to Sri Lankankan J Mubarak's 46 not out off 13 balls at 353.84 against Kenya on 14.9.2007 and Mahela Jayawardene's [Images] 65 off 27 balls at 240.74 in the same match in Johannesburg.

- Six run-outs in the match is a new record in Twenty20 Internationals, surpassing the four run-outs in England-Sri Lanka game at Rose Bowl, Southampton on 15.6.2006.
