Statistical highlights: India vs Australia, Adelaide ODI

Statistical highlights of the tri-series one-day international between India and Australia in Adelaide on Sunday:

# Australia's triumph by 50 runs is their fourth in as many matches against India in Adelaide. Overall, Australia have won 27 out of 37 played at Adelaide - winning percentage of 72.97.

# Australia have won 37 and lost 16 (no result three) out of 56 played against India in Australia - winning percentage of 66.07. Overall, Australia have won 56 and lost 30 (NR 7) out of 93 played against India - winning percentage 60.21.

# India (153) posted their lowest innings total in Adelaide - their previous lowest at this venue was 157 against Australia on 15.12.1991.

# Michael Clarke [Images] got his seventh Man of the Match award for posting his 28th fifty - 79 off 108 balls.

# Clarke and Brad Hogg [Images] put on 72 for the seventh wicket, which is Australia's best for this wicket against India in Australia, eclipsing the 53 between Michael Hussey and Brett Lee [Images] at MCG last Sunday.

# Gautam Gambhir [Images] is the leading run-getter in the competition - 231 runs at an average of 57.75. For the first time in a competition/series, he has recorded 200-plus.

# Adam Gilchrist [Images], with five dismissals (4 catches + 1 stumping) accomplished the feat of effecting five dismissals or more in an innings against India for the second time, emulating New Zealand's [Images] Brendon McCullum's feat of five dismisals in an innings twice against India - Napier (29.12.2002) and Christchurch (1.1.2003). Gilchrist (6 dismissals) had first achieved the feat against India in Baroda on 11.10.2007.

 # Gilchrist has now effected 5 or more dismissals in an innings 11 times, extending his world record.

# Irfan Pathan [Images] (4/41) recorded his best bowling performance against Australia, eclipsing his three for 51 at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 22, 2004.

# Pathan's figures are the best by an Indian bowler against Australia at Adelaide. His figures are also the best by an Indian medium-pacer at Adelaide, surpassing Kapil Dev's [Images] 4 for 54 against West Indies [Images] on December 14, 1991.

# Pathan became the seventh Indian bowler to capture 4 or more wickets in an innings against Australia in Australia, joining Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri, Ajit Agarkar [Images], Javagal Srinath, L Balaji and Ishant Sharma.

# With four dismissals (3 ct+ 1 st), Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images] became the first Indian wicketkeeper to effect four or more dismissals in an innings twice against Australia. He had five dismissals (4 catches + 1 stumping) at Melbourne on February 10, 2008. Chandrakant Pandit, Kiran More and Nayan Mongia have achieved the feat once each against Australia.

# Dhoni, with 22 dismissals (16 catches + 6 stumpings) in 13 ODIs is now the leading Indian wicketkeeper for India against Australia, bettering Nayan Mongia's tally of 18 (11 ct + 7 st) in 15 matches.
