Statistical highlights of the fourth day's play in the third cricket Test between India and Australia in Perth.

# Dismissed for 45, Ricky Ponting's [Images] average after six innings in the series is now 21.33 -- 128 runs with one fifty.

# Rahul Dravid [Images], with Ponting's catch, equalled New Zealand's [Images] Stephen Fleming's [Images] tally of 166 catches, moving to second place. Only Mark Waugh [Images] (181) has held more catches.

  • # Ishant Sharma dismissed Ponting in both the innings (caught Dravid) of the Perth Test. Against India, Ponting has been dismissed by the same bowler twice in a match � three times to Harbhajan Singh [Images], once each to Anil Kumble [Images], Venkatapathy Raju and Ishant.

    # Gilchrist has averaged 22.66 in the series so far -- 136, with one fifty.

    # Brett Lee [Images] registered his 12th duck - his third against India.  Against England [Images] and South Africa, he has recorded most ducks - 4 each.

    # Virender Sehwag [Images] produced his best bowling performance against Australia -- his second best overall, next only to his 3/33 off 16.1 overs against West Indies [Images] at Gros Islet in June 2006.

    # Andrew Symonds [Images] completed 1000 runs and scored 1001 at an average of 41.70 in 18 Tests, including two centuries and 6 fifties. He is the 87th Australian batsman to aggregate 1000 runs in Tests.

    # Mitchell Johnson posted his career-best score in Tests, his maiden fifty.

    # Irfan Pathan [Images] (3/54) produced his best bowling performance against Australia. Pathan got his fourth Man of the Match award for his all-round performance (28 + 46 and 2/63 + 3/54) is his first against a strong opponent -- his previous three being two against Zimbabwe and one against Bangladesh.

    # Pathan became the second Indian all-rounder to record 70 runs and claim 5 wickets in a Test match in Australia. Rusi Surti was the first to accomplish the feat twice in 1967-68 at Brisbane and Adelaide.

    # Michael Clarke [Images] (81) registered his 8th fifty -- his second in the present series, taking his aggregate to 198 at an average of 33.00.

    # The 73-run partnership between Stuart Clark and Mitchell Johnson is a 9th wicket record for Australia against India in Australia, obliterating the 59 between Damien Fleming and Brett Lee at Melbourne in 1999-00.

    # India registered their fifth win in 35 Tests against Australia in Australia (Lost 22 & Drawn 8).

    # India's first win at Perth in three Tests is Australia's eighth defeat in 35 Tests at this venue.

    # India became the first team from the sub-continent to record a victory at Perth in 10 Tests. Pakistan lost all the five Tests at this venue and Sri Lanka [Images] two.

    # The Perth triumph is the first under Anil Kumble's captaincy in three Tests away from home � all against Australia.

    # After remaining undefeated in their last ten Tests, Australia lost the first Test at Perth. West Indies was the last team to beat Australia at this venue in February 1977.

    # With Australia's defeat to India at Perth, their best ever sequence of remaining undefeated at home in the last 25 matches between December 26, 2003 and January 6, 2008 has ended.

    # Ponting has lost his first Test at home as captain -- his fourth overall.
