14 die in poll violence in Bihar, Jharkhand

At least 14 people were killed when Naxalites tried to enforce a poll boycott in Jharkhand and Bihar during the first phase of assembly election on Thursday.

Jharkhand�saw 11 deaths in naxal-dominated areas as the state went to the hustings for the first time since its formation three years ago.
A few hours before polling began, ultras of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) blew up a vehicle by triggering a landmine in Palamu, killing all seven occupants�-- six policemen and a civilian driver.
The police team, headed by Chhatarpur police station in-charge Ashok Paswan, was returning after dropping off a polling party.
Four Naxalites were killed when they attempted to attack security personnel at Dandila in Hussainabad constituency, also in Palamu district.
In Bihar, at least� five� people were killed in poll-related violence.
Two�security officials and�a voter�were killed in a�naxal�attack in�Imamganj constituency in Gaya district.
In another�incident two women were killed in police firing in Rohtas district.
