Yes, everyone knows about the recent income tax raids on the stars.

And most also read in the national dailies that Aishwarya Rai burst into tears when the authorities raided her house.

Now for the reason why. She was at beau Salman Khan's house when they swooped down. To her chagrin, Ash, who is known to be temporarily living in with Salman, found herself opening the bedroom door to the Income Tax authorities.

Aishwarya Rai Needless to say, the taxmen were so shocked they decided to raid her house as well. Even though -- sources say -- she did not feature in the list of stars who were to be raided.

Manisha? You mean, Moneysha!

Just when the offer to co-host Sawaal Dus Crore Ka landed at her doorstep, Manisha Koirala was all poised to fly off to the US to shoot for Rajkumar Santoshi's Lajja.

The moolah being offered by Zee was tempting. Only it was just a matter of the dates clashing.

However, this once, Manisha did not play hooky. Instead, she decided to speak to financier Bharatbhai Shah and requested him to grant permission to permit her to fly a few days later.

Shah had no other option but to give in to his heroine's requests. Not that Rajkumar Santoshi had any problems with it. He was heard cribbing about the delay alright.

Not for long. He just took off on a sightseeing tour with his family who had joined him on location, instead.

Vinod Khanna lays down the law!

Vinod Khanna has sure managed to instil a lot of discipline at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) of which he is the official Principal.

Vinod Khanna The strike for which there seemed no end in sight was instantly called off when Vinod in his new avtaar visited the institute and spoke to the student body and leaders.

Seems the leaders were impressed with Khanna, who apparently had done his homework before getting to the institute. So not only did he know what they were talking about but even knew the problems and the possible solutions to it.

Probably his experience in his constituency is what has taught Vinod Khanna a lesson.

While on Vinod Khanna, one cannot but add how the star has now decided to make an entry onto the small screen.

Vinod Khanna will be making his bow on television in a serial produced by Cinevista, in which he plays a strict but caring father.

Sources close to the unit talk of how Vinod Khanna is rarely late for his shooting, and is totally professional on the sets.

Kamal gets third time lucky with Raveena

Raveena Tandon Raveena Tandon might not like to know this but the fact remains that she was not the first but third choice for Kamal Haasan's Abhay.

The first choice was Aishwarya Rai, who did not have the necessary dates. The second choice was Juhi Chawla who, when she found she was pregnant, backed out of negotiations.

But then, look at it this way: Kamal just got third time lucky!

David Dhawan and his women!

One is amazed at David Dhawan's choice of heroines.

Sushmita, David Dhawan and Tara Deshpande The Jeetendra-produced film which he is directing stars Govinda and Sushmita Sen.

Initially, he had signed on Tara Deshpande to play second lead. But barely had one schedule of the film wound up than Tara was out of the film. In her place stepped the voluptuous Rambha.

Not very surprising, this switch. Considering that Rambha has been hounding Govinda and inundating him with visits and calls asking him to recommend her name to producers.

Which sets the mind awonder. How can she fit into a role written and conceived with Tara in mind?

Mom knows best!

Esha and Hema Malini All those who thought Hema Malini was formiddable must listen to what the unit members of Boney Kapoor's film, which stars Esha Deol, have to say.

It seems not only is Esha very well behaved but Hema is most non-interfering in her daughter's affairs. Neither does she tag along with her daughter unless necessary.

There's none of the "Let-me-see-my-daughter-through-the lens" syndrome of a Mahima's mother or the domineering attitude of Babita Kapoor who shifts dates with no qualms.

During a recent schedule of the film in Hyderabad, Esha wanted to come back for Diwali.

The producer was more than willing to oblige, but Hema packed her daughter back the very next day, with strict instructions that a set standing in a studio meant unnecessary expenses for the producer.

Oh, for more star moms like Hema Malini!
