If there was a polite word for Venus Records & Tapes latest Hum Ho Gaye Aap Ke, it would be mediocre.
The record company obviously hoped to cash in on their last success, Dhadkan. Which accounts for why the makers repeated the composer-lyricist team of Nadeem Shravan and Sameer in this film, too.
Hum Ho Gaye Aap Ke, starring Fardeen Khan and new find Reema Sen (a familiar face on the Telugu and Tamil circuit) is a regular love story. Here's one for mushville.
Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik croon the soft and romantic title song as best they can. Only, some portions of the song are totally reminiscent of Sambhala hai maine bahut apne dil ko (Naraaz), for this one to be inspiring.
Sonu Nigam’s Ishq hai kya is brash, carefree and more than reveals Fardeen Khan's character in the film. Casanova would be an apt description. It's a racy track, replete with come-ons like Love me, love me for a day.
Abhi to mohabbat ka is pitched at a sober note. Great vocals by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Neat tune. But. This number lacks that vital something.
Der se hua is one of the better tracks of the album, with its slow, soothing melody. It has been sung twice individually by Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu.
Pehli baar dil ye proves that mere good acoustics do not a good song make. Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik fail to lift this song from its ordinary base.
Re mama follows. No, it's not a remixed version of the popular Seventies' song from Ramesh Sippy’s Andaz. What it is is a hip-shaking dance track by Sunidhi Chauhan. Unfortunately, it is none too impressive.
For an album which has a reputed music company at its helm, the music of Hum Ho Gaye Aap Ke the music is strictly ordinary.
