What: The Joint Entrance Examination 2005.

 

You need to take the JEE if you are looking for admission to undergraduate courses at

 

~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

 

~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi


~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati


~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur


~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur


~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras


~ The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

 

~ Institute of Technology -- Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi


~ Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad

 

The screening test

 

The test will be held on April 10, 2005.

 

It will consist of one objective type question paper of three hours duration.

 

The topics you will tested on include Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

 

The question papers will be set in English and Hindi.

The main examination

 

The examination will be held for those candidates who qualify in the screening test.

 

It will be held on May 22, 2005.

 

There will be three separate papers (non-objective type), of two hours each, in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

 

You can answer the papers in Assamese/ Bengali/ English/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Tamil/ Telugu.

 

Do you qualify?

 

~ You must have passed your 10+2 or an equivalent examination

 

OR

 

You must have passed a three- or four-year diploma programme recognised by AICTE or by a State Board of Technical Education.

 

~ Candidates appearing for any of these examinations in 2005 are also eligible to apply.

 

They must submit proof of having passed the examination on or before September 30, 2005.

 

~ The age limit for candidates in the general/ DS category is October 1, 1980.

 

~ The age limit for candidates in the SC/ ST/ PD category is October 1, 1975.

How to apply

 

~ The information brochure contains details regarding the application procedure, syllabus, examination centres, courses of study available at various institutions and other relevant information about JEE 2005.

~ The cost of application material is Rs 300 for SC/ ST category candidates and Rs 600 for other candidates.

 

It includes the examination fee.

 

~ You can get the application forms at the various IITs.
