Govt plans 14 new trainsThe Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government proposes to introduce 14 new trains this year. Railway Minister Nitish Kumar disclosed this while presenting the Railway Budget today. The new trains are: 
Madras-Tirupati Shatabdi Express
 The minister also announced that the frequency of four express trains would be increased. Howrah-Purulia Express will run daily instead of the present six days a week. The frequency of Bangalore-Visakhapatnam Express will be increased from two days a week to four days a week. The Pune-Ahmedabad Ahimsa Express will be increased from three days to four days a week. Kurla-Howrah Super Deluxe Express will now run three days a week instead of once a week. UNI Fare hikes to net Rs 9 billion 'Freight rate hike will lead to inflation'
