Market@April 11: Day's report

Blood bath on bourses. Infosys, Zee, Wipro, SSI, Satyam, HCL Tech, Himachal, Digital, Pentamedia, DSQ Software- all of them lost 16 per cent each. The position of other software stocks was equally bad.

Old economy counters also felt the pressure and lost substantially. Reliance, ACC, Ranbaxy, RPL, Ranbaxy, Cipla, Dr Reddy fell significantly.

Meanwhile, the index meanwhile touched a 23-month low.

Sensex down 133 points at 3325. Nifty down 40 points at 1063.

  • Close: 3325.46

S&P CNX Nifty:

  • Open: 1104.90
  • High:1116.85
  • Low: 1056.10
  • Close: 1063.35

  • BSE advances: 977
  • BSE declines: 809
  • BSE unchanged: 94
  • BSE volume: Rs 1061 crore

Most active:
Satyam, Infosys, Reliance, Wipro, Global.

Gainers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Sundram Clayton, Zodiac Clothing.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent to 7.9 per cent
GE Shipping, Vital Com, Godfrey Phil, Vision Tech, Gesco Corp.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent to 16 per cent
Zee, Infosys, Satyam, Global, Himachal, Digital, Pentamedia, NIIT, DSQ Software, Silverline, Wipro, SSI, Aptech, DSQ Bio, Vikas WSP, Hughes Soft.

Losers: Between 5 per cent to 7.9 per cent
Grasim, Rolta, Padmini Poly, Visualsoft, Sun Pharma, Nath Seeds, GV Films, Henkel Spic, Onward Tech.
