Market@April 27: Day's report

New as well old economy counters lost substantially on Friday. Global, Himachal, DSQ Software, NIIT, Satyam, Zee, Silverline, SSI, Pentamedia and HCL Tech hit 16 per cent lower band. Infosys, Wipro and Digital also lost more than 8 per cent.

Among the old economy stocks, counters like ACC, Grasim, RPL, Tata Power, IPCL, Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Tea, India Cements, Ashok Leyland and Century lost significatly. However, HLL, MTNL and Cipla remained firm. Colgate gained smartly.

Sensex down 134 points at 3423. Nifty down 42 points at 1102.

Gainers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Ahmedabad Elect, IVRCL Infra, Alembic Glass.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
Colgate, CMC, Anco Com, Madura Coats, Jindal Online, Jain Irrigation.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Satyam, Wipro, Zee, Infosys, Pentamedia, Silverline, ACC, NIIT, SSI, Reliance Capital, Grasim, Tata Power, Global, Himachal, HCL Tech, Gujarat Ambuja, DSQ Software, Aptech.

Losers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
Digital, RPL, Tisco, Sterlite, Tata Elxsi, Tata Tea, Wartsila NSD, Sonata Software, Kesoram, Glaxo, BILT, Thermax.
