Market@February 14: Day's report

Software stocks remained in a narrow range and the trading volume was also low. Wipro was the major loser. It lost 3 per cent. Infosys, Satyam and Himachal also dipped marginally.

Among the old economy stocks, cement counters attracted strong buying during the second half of the day. L&T, ACC, Grasim, and India Cement gained smartly. Bhel, Tisco, Telco and HPCL have also attracted buying interest.

Reliance remained firm. Ashok Leyland hit 16 per cent upper circuit.

Sensex unchanged at 4363. Nifty up 3 points at 1394.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
Shyam Tele, Kesoram, Bank of Baroda, Hotel Leela, Gujarat Gas, Essar Shipping, Birla Corp, Welspun.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Toubro Info, Vorin Lab.

Losers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
