Market@February 26: Day's report

The software counters showed a mixed trend. Himachal, Global and Zee lost more than 5 per cent, whereas counters like DSQ Software and Digital managed to gain more than 3 per cent each.

Satyam and Infosys also managed to gain.

Among the old economy counters, Ashok Leyland, Telco, ACC, Grasim, Tisco, Tata Power, ICICI and MTNL remained strong for a major part of the day. HLL dipped sharply.

The overall trading volume was compartively low.

Sensex down 10 points at 4112. Nifty down 9 points at 1311.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
Aptech, Telco, Tata Chem, ICICI, Nocil, Shyam Tele, Sonata Soft, LML, Kodak, Arvind Mills, ITC Bhadra.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Zee, Jaiprakash, Shree Cements, GV Films, Vital Com.

Losers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
