Gujarat Ambuja says plants safeIndia's fourth-largest cement firm, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, said on Monday that its plants in Gujarat state have not suffered any damage from last Friday's devastating earthquake. "The operations of all the cement plants and sea terminals are proceeding normally and work was not affected due to the earthquake. Gujarat Ambuja shares were 2.44 per cent up at Rs 190.70, while the Sensex was down just over 2 per cent. India's worst earthquake in around 50 years killed thousands of people last week and damaged property worth millions of rupees in Gujarat, India's second most industrialised state.
