Market@March 14: Day's report

Most tech stocks were over than 10 per cent. Stocks like Digital, SSI, NIIT and Aptech closed on the upper 16 per cent. Infosys and Satyam were up more than 10 per cent each. Zee was up more than 15 per cent.

On the other hand, tech stocks like Himachal and DSQ Software closed on the lower 16 per cent band.

Pivotals witnessed a broad based rally. Stocks like ACC and Tata Power were on the upper 16 per cent band. Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja, Bhel, Tisco, Telco and Tata Tea recorded gains of more than 10 per cent.

Though there has been a substantial jump in the Sensex, it has happened on low volumes of 1644 crore.

Sensex up 181 points at 3722. Nifty up 65 points at 1189.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
MTNL, L&T, IPCL, DSQ Bio, Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC, Indu Gulf Corp, ICICI, BSES.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Himachal, DSQ Software, BPCL, Sonata Soft, Usha Bltron.
