Trai panel submits IUC report

The expert commitee formed by telecom regulator Trai to look into the technical aspects for implementing interconnect user charge regime, is believed to have submitted its report to the regulator.    

According to sources, the committee members have given their suggestions on technical aspects relating to implementation of IUC regime, although it is not yet clear whether they sought any extension.

The participants in the committee were unavailable for comments. The details of recomnendations are not known.

The committee was formed by Trai to discuss amd finalise the technical aspects with regard to implementation of the IUC regime from may 1, 2003.

The comittee was convened by BSNL, and representatives of all telecom service providers participated in the iscussions.
