FM clears 30 FDI proposals

Finance Minister Jaswant Singh on Wednesday cleared 30 foreign direct investment proposals worth Rs 130.25 crore (Rs 1.3 billion) including the Rs 95.69 crore (Rs 956.9 million) fund infusion of EMC Corporation-Hopkins Massachusetts of US.

The proposals were mainly for manufacture of glass, reinforce polymer pipe systems and tanks, consumer goods, ISP and software, an official release said.

Apart from EMC's proposal, the FIPB also cleared Rs 17.54 crore (Rs 175.4 million) FDI plan of a Bahrain-based company for manufacture of glass and reinforced polymers pipes and tanks.
