Wipro Technologies on Monday announced the successful implementation of an e-Ticketing solution for easyCinema, a new venture of the Europe-based easyGroup.

The solution implemented by Wipro allows easyCinema to automate the entire operation and management of a cinema, reducing operating costs by a sizeable percentage, Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of New York Stock Exchange-listed Wipro Limited said in a statement.

The Web-based solution helps easyCinema manage the scheduling, pricing, booking, payment and various other aspects of its business, the statement said.

The easyCinema business model, like all easyGroup businesses, works on the principle of low cost, high volume.

easyGroup, Wipro said, is a well-established European group with a reputation for offering innovative, low cost alternatives to customers with successful ventures such as

easyJet, easyInternetCafe and easyCar.

The statement said easyCinema customers would be able to book tickets on-line from home or on PCs located at the cinema. Entry at the cinema is completely automated through the use of bar-code scanners, eliminating the need for expensive box offices and entry management facilities.

According to Wipro, the system provides advanced revenue and yield management functionality that allows easyCinema to dynamically price the tickets, based on demand for particular shows.
