The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Monday signed two MoUs with the Chinese trade bodies to promote cooperation in trade, with focus on IT and investments between India and China.     

The 20-member Ficci delegation currently in China, has agreed to publish an in-depth Sino-India Economic and Trade Yearbook jointly with China International Trade Research and Training Centre for Asia Pacific region, a Ficci release said in New Delhi.

The yearbook, to be printed in both Chinese and English, is expected to develop better understanding between the business communities in sectors like tourism, agriculture, software, education and HRD.

It would delineate methodologies towards investment and setting up of businesses for the Chinese and Indian companies.   

The other MoU signed with the Service Centre of Beijing Haidian district for Foreign Investment aims at strengthening the cooperation in the area of IT.     

There would be regular exchange of information and views on expansion of cooperation in IT and joint investments, besides laws and regulations.

Secretary general of Ficci Amit Mitra said the chamber was looking for strategic partnerships with China in some key areas.

He said there was a need for India and China to jointly oppose the agriculture subsidies provided by the US and Japan.
