HDFC Bank, Amex ink pact

May 30, 2003 21:41 IST

HDFC Bank on Friday announced a marketing alliance with American Express enabling the former to offer American Express Travellers cheques to consumers at over 160 of its branches across 70 cities.

These branches also offer other retail foreign exchange facilities, an HDFC Bank statement said.

With this alliance, travellers from several small towns would now find it "extremely convenient" to buy American Express travellers cheques, it said.

HDFC Bank is one of India's leading private sector banks and one-stop financial supermarket. American Express is the world's largest issuer of travellers cheques.
