Sensex gains 2 points at close

The Sensex closed on a flat note at 4,455 - up 2pts.

Bajaj moved up 3% (Rs 24) to Rs 814. Tata Motors was up nearly 2% (Rs 6) at Rs 313.

HCL Tech advanced 3% (Rs 5) to Rs 177. Infosys pared gains towards the close, but still finished with a gain of a per cent (Rs 44) at Rs 4,568.

ITC moved in a narrow range, and was up Rs 9 at Rs 810. HLL was up a rupee at Rs 184. Reliance, however, declined 2% (Rs 9) to Rs 435.

SBI dropped Rs 6 to Rs 446. HPCL was marginally higher today.

Dr. Reddy's added Rs 11 to Rs 1068. Cipla and Glaxo also closed in positive zones.

Hindalco was firm right through the session, and added nearly 3% (Rs 27) to Rs 946.

HDFC gained 2% (Rs 11) to Rs 510.

Cement frontliners closed with losses today.
