Reliance war: Spiritual help sought

December 02, 2004 17:17 IST

Kokilaben, widow of Reliance Industries founder Dhirubhai Ambani, is understood to have sought guidance from a popular religious leader Morari Bapu to tide over the present crisis in the family.

She visited Bapu's ashram in Bhavnagar district on Sunday and requested him for a nine-day Ram Katha discourse at Jamnagar, which houses the Reliance's 30 million tonne refinery.

According to family sources, Kokilaben discussed the tussle between the two brothers -- Mukesh and Anil -- over the ownership issues in the Rs 90,000 crore (Rs 900 billion) Reliance empire.

She is believed to have expressed  the view that she could understand if one gets a little more and the other little less but not one of them taking away everything, the sources said.
