Ramesh Damani : It remains a good bet for long term investors.

ak : Sir, You mentioned on CNBC that you would not buy Elxsi at this point. If it were a trade bet, would you sell now?
Ramesh Damani : These things are dificult to say. I still own it but it seem to want to break 160

ahmedabadguys : Mr. Damani at 6000 plus levels to remain bullish market needs in excess of 300 cr. plus net inflow..Do you see that kind of liquidity continue pouring in for rest of month also???
Ramesh Damani : It may come from retail investors.

rangararajan : experts anticipate slow down in economic growth around next year globaly, what is your view.
Ramesh Damani : Big picture investing is not easy to do.

RK : Sir, any views on TataFinance? I bought @ 47. What should be my current stance? On contrary with the name, this is being aloof from other Tata companies? I just bought seeing its name.
Ramesh Damani : Sorry, don't follow it.

anaam : Sir, Some months back when the market was down in the pit,I was watching CNBC & all the "so-called" analysts were as such creating fear amongst the listners that the market will even fall further....You were the only "ray of hope' as your said that tecnically market is weak & may test a another bottom..but your "inner feeling" is that market will soon inprove..That "inner felling" played a dececive role in holding all the stocks & even in accumalating some more at its bottom...Thanks in tons & tons..Only a few are given this "gut fellings" by the Almighty....GOD BLESS YOU...(You are the chosen one...MATRIX)
Ramesh Damani : Thanks, I appreciate your kind words...sometimes we are lucky.

kvg : SIR , DO U HAVE ANY VIEW ON SAW PIPES
Ramesh Damani : No but they are doing well.

HelloDamani : Sir, In the last week's chat , i had asked u the following question about Godrej Industries --- I was not able to purchase Godrej Industries because I was busy with other activities. Now I am concerned and don't know what should I do? Should I go for something new multibagger in the making?Or should I increase my exposure in the stocks which i already own. If yes, then which one can i still purchase?Or you still want me to go for Godrej IndustriesAnother question -- Howz indo matsushita --- trading choice or investment choice for u? Can we say another multibagger identified by RSD?HelloDamani : HI, MY PORTFOLIO OF 7.5 LAKH INCLUDES BALAJI TELEFILMS, MCDOWELL, SUNDARAM FINANCE , UNITED BREWERIES AND HOLDINGS , TATA ELXSI , MORGAN STANLEY, GILLETTE , STATE BANK , GOLDIAM AND 2 LAKH IN CASH. NOW I WANT TO INVEST THE CASH AMOUNT IN SOME SCRIP AND GO TO HIMALAYAS AFTER THAT FOR 2-3 YEARS . WHICH IS THE BEST SCRIP I CAN BET ON ? I AM A SOFTWARE ENGG WORKING IN MUMBAI AND DO NOT TRADE AT ALL
Ramesh Damani : Abbreviate your questions. Too long to answer.

vikrant : how is BEL looking to u at this point
Ramesh Damani : Should retest 600 levels. Balance sheet is strong.

kuber : Sir, view on Indo mat appl. whether it is value buying now
Ramesh Damani : Yes, for patient investors.

lavanya : Sir, Tata Elxsi at 160 - is it too late to enter? I am looking at a 3-6 month time frame?
Ramesh Damani : Enter with a stop loss of around 154 as a trading bet at this point.

MALIK : Can you give new ideas or scripts for the rest of Bull run .Atleast five new shares both long term and short term ( Trading)
Ramesh Damani : They keep coming up. Recently I bought SKF Bearing, Navneet Publication and Nucleus Software.

sbn : Sirdo you feel SAIL is a good bet still.
Ramesh Damani : Yes, I think on a trading basis.

basant :  What are your views on IDBI bank? Wil the merger favopr bank or IDBI
Ramesh Damani : IDBI

Zoroaster : Please suggest a couple of liquor stocks that are worst in the sector as these could be outperformers when the next rally come about.
Ramesh Damani : Clearly McDowell.

HelloDamani : Sir, Please suggest one out of Godrej industries and Indo Matsushita... Itz very diff. to keep both in the portfolio as we dont have that much money
Ramesh Damani : Godrej Industries if you want one.

ak : Sir, Arvind products is a buy with how long a time period in mind?
Ramesh Damani : Post 2005 it should perform.

chandani : sir yu remember you werte planning to bok profit in BEL?/
Ramesh Damani : I did and I am watching it closely but I have not sold yet.

circuit : sir, please tell me whether i should hold Opto Circuit at 120 lave or sell it
Ramesh Damani : They should have an exciting 2005-06. So hold on if you are an investor.

lavanya : Thanks Sir. I recently came out of INFY, SATYAM and WIPRO and am sitting on some cash. Onlt Tata Elxsi in my portfolio currently. Any suggestions on where i can place this money on? Textile, Tech or Pharma? Thanks again.
Ramesh Damani : I would remain invested. I have suggested stocks that I have bought form time to time.

andy : sir nucleus has almost doubled from 60 levels to 100 - is there any thing left for us?
Ramesh Damani : You could wait for a reaction.

chengise : chengise: hi ramesh, do you follow aban lloyd-if so what do you feel about its future given the frenzy towards oil exploration will it do well...
Ramesh Damani : Yes, it has had a great run, however, I don't follow it.

Zoroaster : DENANGSHU DATTA GAVE A TECHNICAL TARGET OF 180 FOR ELXSI FEW WEEKS AGO AND LOOKS IT WILL EASILY CROSS THAT IN NEXT FEW SESSIONS
Ramesh Damani : That would be great, it certainly could.

ak : Sir, Navneet and nucleus are trading bets or investment? At what levels should we enter them?
Ramesh Damani : At this time investments but I trade in them with a small quantity.

raj : Damaniji , what is your call on tv18. I have purchased at 180 rs
Ramesh Damani : I would hold on.

Zoroaster : HOWEVER, WE DO HAVE SOME CONSOLATION AND IF THE RS. 2 DIVIDEND ON MCDOWELL IS MAINTAINED WE NEED NOT WORRY TOO MUCH AS WE STILL HAVE A DIV YLD OF NEARLY 3 PERCENT
Ramesh Damani : Yes, and value will be unlocked over time.

Amit 1 : Mr. Damani thanks a lot for your guidance. we made huge money in Godrej and Crest. Congraluations on your wonderful pick. Is it time to book profits in CREST
Ramesh Damani : That depends on your view.

chandani : i tis like this when you suggest a stock and if it goes down we feel that stock may not be worth a look when it goes high we feel array it has moved fast and we should wait for correction and 'gaddi chhut jati hain' so only we trust yoiur acumen thoroughly and accumulate and wait for 10. 20 , 30 50 % gain?/ i think this is ther right way?/ or is it?????/
Ramesh Damani : No formula works consistently, I have had good periods and poor ones.

lavanya : Sir, last time u said u forgot to bring the list of books with u, and said u would defn do so this week. I am currently reading "Beating the Street" from the same author as "One Up on Wall Street". Some good book suggestions please? Thanks
Ramesh Damani : I am sorry, I keep forgetting to bring it. Try reading Making of an American Capitalist by Roer Lowenstein.

HelloDamani : SIR , I AM SITTING ON SOME CASH AND WANT TO INVEST. TILL LAST WEEK MY FIRST CHOICE WAS GODREJ INDUSTRIES BUT IT HAS SEEN A HUGE RUN UP. WHAT SHOULD BE MY FIRST CHOICE NOW FROM A 2-3 YRS PERSPECTIVE. THANKS IN ADVANCE
Ramesh Damani : See earlier answers.

chengise : hi ramesh : If we are interested to get some of your presentations what is the way-moneycontrol hardly responds
Ramesh Damani : Just keep emailing them.

ak : Sir, what timeframe would SKF bearings command?
Ramesh Damani : No time limit on investment.

MALIK : sie , still you feel that there will be correction as you said previously that from 1st Oct there will be correction for 2 weeks but it doesn't happened. what is you views now
Ramesh Damani : It hasn't, market is ploughing ahead the correction happened before Oct 1.

Neewbieatstock : Sir i dont understand this, Oil price up, Gold prices up, Inflation up, Stock Markets up...?
Ramesh Damani : It happens that is why market is an art form.

rsdadmirer : Good evening Mr.Damani. What is your outlook for (1) Asian Paints (2) Ingersoll Rand and (3) Himatsingha? These have not shown the buoyancy the other leading companies in these businesses have shown. In particular, why is Asian Paints sluggish? An Indian MNC in paints is not a good idea? Thanks.
Ramesh Damani : I recently sold Himmat after making a good investment in it. Both the other co's are steady compounders.

kvg : sir, can we add suven life sciences or should wait for reaction
Ramesh Damani : No view at this time.

redalert : what is your take on banco products
Ramesh Damani : Bullish, I own it.

chengise : Ramesh-sorry i did not understand but is there some email id to which we can request that they mail your presentations or is there some other way
Ramesh Damani : Just email to money control maybe Vidya is the name.

baracuda : have yu made up your mind to apply for the united brew rights issue how and when will the conversion take place and is the co ina position to pay the said interest
Ramesh Damani : Unfortunately not made up my mind.

ahmedabadguys : Mr. Damani Mcmillan can mcdowell post good results for fy 05 having raw material prises going through roof and few state govts. unwilling to increase prises....
Ramesh Damani : It could but they have some pricing power.

andy : Sir PLEASE - is there still life in PHARMA or they are over the top - VIMTA LABs / LUPIN Labs???
Ramesh Damani : Pharma is going to report a good quarter.

Neewbieatstock : What does banco do, i have no clue whats the valuation like and whats your timeframe on it, whats your investment rationale ?
Ramesh Damani : Auto ancillary paid Rs 7.5 dividend last year on Rs 100 share.

vikrant : Does a 1 year MBA from a UK business school is good for getting a good job
Ramesh Damani : Yes, it helps and opens up especially your mind.

chandani : sir on e expert [mark fabur?] ha s forcast there will be a great recession by end of the year toyr views please???
Ramesh Damani : It is a possibility in US after elections.

vikas 2 : RElaince has now MEDIA fund: With 26% FDI allowed u think huige money will flow in the sector. What are your top picks and do u seriously recommend it to buy now
Ramesh Damani : My top picks in media are Balaji and NDTV

vikas 2 : IMPORTANT : This is very exciting phase of stock market. We sincerely request you not to miss any weekly chat or compensate it other day in case u are busy on some tuesdays
Ramesh Damani : Sure i will try not to miss.

chandani : sir NTPC IPO your views pl.
Ramesh Damani : Yes, bullish.

Neewbieatstock : sir as an investor when you look at a balance sheet how do you know that the company is not siphoning the funds, many companies buy profits so they can show better earnings and also to feed directors, i mean you can probably see the poor cashflow but you can never tell a company is really doing it, evyone has billts i have a friend who audit's some companeis its all legit... ? on paper
Ramesh Damani : That is the art in reading a b/s. You need to say tax and div paid and have a gut feel on management. Also don't beleive fairy tales.

ak : Sir, do you invest in the commodity markets?
Ramesh Damani : No

chengise : ramesh-there are a bunch of new books on the great buffet - any particular one you would recommend
Ramesh Damani : Just read everything on him.

andy : Are there any STOCKS that i could buy and leave for my kids - 10 to 20 years frame? small investor - when compared to fixed funds or this is not the place for same???
Ramesh Damani : That is always a difficult question. Try Indian Shaving, Lever, Tata Tea. I own them.

vikrant : what is your view on HINDUJA TMT currently
Ramesh Damani : Bullish.

vikas 2 : FDC : Was once recommended by your friend. Any view u hold on for FDC
Ramesh Damani : Hold on.

Zoroaster : IF THERE IS A US RECESSION IT MAY LAST 3-4 QUARTERS ACCORDING TO ROACH. WILL OUR BULL MARKET BE ABLE TO TAKE A HIT OF 10-15% AND STILL GET BULLISH AGAIN, OR WHAT DO YOU FEEL?
Ramesh Damani : It is hard to quantify the future like that.

Neewbieatstock : sir hinduja tmt owns around 3.5 in Hutch which is arond 400 cr if am not mistaken i was "trying to run some numbers" the stock should be worth around 400, considering hutch stake, bpo and an underdeclared cable business. or maybe more
Ramesh Damani : You are on the right track.

Prabhu : Sir, whats your call on shre Raj syntex & shri raj texchem in the prsent context. pl advice
Ramesh Damani : Remain invested.

remesh : Sir, Your comment on Godrej Ind. please. I bought it around 84. I can hold it for 3 months.Or I have to look for something else for 3 months period. please suggest

Ramesh Damani : No

Prabhu : Sir, Opto Circuits, good run, buy at this price or not ?
Ramesh Damani : I would hold on.

sanujkadavil : sirthose who got 50 colgate in 1978 will have 2800 colgate now. like we have one good investment theme waiting in agro tech foods ltd. looks cheap now. last year mgmt made a indepedent valuation of their brands and values 180cr. higherthan its marketcap. also mgmt aims a 2500cr turnover in fy05. ie they can easily make 100cr profit and a eps of 40rs.
Ramesh Damani : Certainly is plausible, and Warren Bufetts' son is on the board.

sanujkadavil : sirgodrej still has 20% in sara lee it values 200cr. godrej mktcap only 400cr. looks cheap still also holds quality assets like gcpl
Ramesh Damani : Yes, it remains a value.

sanujkadavl : sirwhats your call on foursoft and crew bos. counter seems some huge volumes. wwould you consider crewbos as good longterm bet
Ramesh Damani : I have not studied crew, Foursoft -- you could make an intial investment.

chandani : hello sir Rameshbhai are you there???/
Ramesh Damani : Getting ready to sign off. Thanks for joining. See you next week. Bye.
