Yeh Hai Jalwa was originally announced with Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Kareena Kapoor. Due to constant date hassles, producer Ketan Desai scrapped the project, retaining the title for his next film with Rishi Kapoor, Salman Khan, Amisha Patel and Rinke Khanna.

Sanjay Dutt makes a special appearance in the Punjabi bhangra track, London main India ka bol bala. Interestingly, Dutt is also playing a small cameo in Salman Khan's home production, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, starring brother Sohail Khan and model-turned-actress Sameera Reddy.
