Rahul Dev who made his debut in Sunny Deol starrer Champion and was also seen in another Deol hit Indian, plays one of Bhagat Singh's comrades, Sukhdev. Newcomer Vivek Ahuja plays Rajguru.
For authenticity's sake, the Deols urged old family friend Manoj Kumar to script their film, considering he starred in a film on Bhagat Singh himself (Shaheed, 1965).
Manoj Kumar was to croon a few verses in the music album of the film, which didn't work out. Besides Manoj Kumar, Sanjay Masoom (Zor, Indian, Kranti), and Sutanu Gupta (Damini, Badal) have also collaborated in the scripting department.
