Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan may not have had any releases in 2003, but the actor made sure he stayed in the news. The actor, who won acclaim for his debut production Lagaan, which made its way to the Oscars, signed his first international film, The Rising.

Directed by Ketan Mehta, the film includes Indian as well as British actors. The film made headlines when Britain's Prince Charles attended the mahurat of the film while touring India. Funny that the Prince chose to taste Bollywood through The Rising, which depicts the 1857 Uprising. It was during this Mutiny that sepoy Mangal Pandey revolted against the British.

The film made more news when its leading actress Aishwarya Rai walked out of the film. Apparently, it was because her monetary demands through Hollywood agency William Morris were not met. The film now stars Khan, Rani Mukerji, Amisha Patel and Toby Stephens.
