Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukerji were not present on the sets of the mahurat. Mukerji explained later that one of her family members had met with an accident. Mukerji is said to play a nautch girl in the film.

Shooting starts on January 6 at Pataudi near Delhi, in Pune, Kolkata, and Kazakhistan.

Producer Bobby Bedi [third from left] told rediff.com that British actress Coral Beed will play the female lead opposite Khan and Rai will play Captain Gordon's love interest. Rai celebrated her birthday on November 1.
