Music director A R Rahman [in black, shaking hands with Prince Charles], who is scoring the music for the film, observed that the script was very interesting.

Rahman had scored the music for Aamir's home production Lagaan, and said the music for The Rising would be 'different', not the 'Lagaan kind of music'.

Rahman had earlier met Prince Charles at a British museum. At this meeting, "Prince Charles asked me about what [music] I was doing for The Rising and how the songs would be".

Rahman was recently asked by a British company to compose music for the stage version of The Lord Of The Rings.
