The name is:
Nethra Raghuraman
Your claim to fame :
Films like
Bhopal Express and Takshak. Also, I think being a Femina Look of the Year winner, and modelling at Lakme India Fashion Week has also put me in the spotlight.
On a scale of 1-10, how Net-savvy are you?:
I would rate myself a 4 on 10. I chat with friends and family online and was a huge chat freak atYahoo! till the number of sexual invitations online completely put me off.
Tell us about your wedding that you plan to Web cast:
For my wedding with Ash Chandler, Shaadi Online is taking care of the Web cast so that family and friends who cannot make it will be able to watch us. In fact, since they are handling all nitty gritties, we have shifted the venue from Madras to Bangalore.
How often do you surf?:
I log on for at least half an hour to check email and surf.I have a Rediffmail account and end up surfing the site for the latest news. I prefer reading my news online at sites like the Times of India rather than surfing TV channels. Online news is updated every 15-20 minutes, so I feel as if I miss nothing.
What do you like best about the Web?:
The ability to get my information when and how I want it. Also, the sheer convenience. When I am abroad for fashion shows, I have always booked my air tickets online. I have never been worried about credit card misuse because it's a way of life outside the country. I would be more wary at an Indian site though.
If you could change something about the Internet, it would be:
The ability to stay connected. Slow lines make it one hair-raising experience
Your idea of a perfect Web site would now be:
Something that talks about my work, my pictures and professional life. I am a fanatic about my privacy.
Your strangest experience online:
When my cousin logged on and started chatting with me under an assumed nickname. He completely freaked me out as he kept revealing little details about my personal life that no stranger would know. Those were the longest 25 minutes of my life!
Do you go ego surfing, checking out pages or sites devoted to you?:
I don't need to. Ash and my parents do it for me all the time. While it is a flattering experience to find my pictures as screen savers or on desktops, the amount of information I sometimes find is quite unnerving. Especially when people collate all your old interviews, pictures or titbits of information and put it all on a site.
