Charge-sheet against serial killer in two months

The two brothers, arrested in connection with killing 42 people, mostly women and children, will be charge-sheeted within two months, Inspector General of Police (Rayalaseema range) S K Jayachandra has said.

Disclosing this to the media last night, Jayachandra expressed confidence that the charge-sheet would be filed against the duo within two months as they were co-operating with the police officials.

Jayachandra said he would write to the Andhra Pradesh government to set up a special court for trying the brothers, whose blood samples were sent to the Hyderabad-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology for a DNA test.

Chittoor Superintendent of Police Tushar Aditya Tripati, addressing an informal meeting of police personnel, said that in order to zero in on the duo, the police had rounded up more than 500 criminals to find their whereabouts.

The duo, Kommirigundla Gopal (42) and Subramanyam (30), hailing from the district, resorted to serial killings during the last 11 months in Cuddapah, Chittoor, Nellore districts in the state and Tiruvallur in tamil nadu. They have confessed to the killing of 42 people.
