BSP will fight assembly polls alone: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party vice president Mayawati has said her party would not have any alliance for the coming assembly elections in Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh.

She specifically ruled out any truck with the Samajwadi Party.

However, Mayawati admitted that the Congress leaders were in touch with the BSP for forging an electoral alliance in Madhya Pradesh.

"But it is premature to talk about any tie-up with any party since the election process is far away," she said.

Mayawati reiterated her party's demand for the dismissal of the Kalyan Singh government in Uttar Pradesh, alleging that it had failed on all fronts.

She said it would be better if UP went to the polls along with the other three states in November.

The BSP leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre of misusing the Central Burea of Investigation for political purposes. She alleged that the CBI prepared the action taken report on the Jain Commission findings to settle scores with the BJP's political adversaries.
