Differences over including Hardwar in Uttaranchal will be sorted out, says Kalyan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today said the differences within the coalition over the inclusion of Hardwar district in the proposed state of Uttaranchal would be resolved through dialogue.

Two allies -- Loktantrik Congress and Jantantrik Bahujan Samaj Party -- of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in the state had expressed unhappiness over Hardwar becoming a part of the proposed hill state.

The issue would not be allowed to assume dangerous proportions the way the Udham Singh Nagar controversy had developed at the Centre, Singh said.

However, the Centre's decision on Hardwar would be acceptable to Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister added.

Replying to another question, Singh claimed that there was a marked improvement in the law and order situation in the state in the recent past, and added that the Centre had also expressed its happiness over this.

When asked about his reported differences with state party chief Rajnath Singh, he said, ''This is not correct and the party organisation is with me.''
