Rajdhani Express coaches derail en route to Bombay

Five coaches of the Bombay- bound 2952 Up Rajdhani Express derailed this morning between Anas and Bordi stations in Panchmahal district of Gujarat, according to information reaching the Western Railway headquarters in Bombay.

"All the passengers are safe and no one is injured," a railway spokesperson said.

The derailment, involving a pantry car and four three-tier air-conditioned coaches, took place at 1150 hrs. The coaches were subsequently re-railed and the train left on its onward journey to Bombay at 1415 hrs, the spokesperson said.

According to Western Railway sources, the passengers of the derailed bogeys have been shifted to the August Kranti Express which is expected to reach Bombay at 11 pm, while the derailed train will reach the city by 10 pm.

"For the convenience of passengers both the trains will halt at Borivili station," the spokesperson said.
