Joshi says sorry for ruckus in legislative council

E-Mail this report to a friend

Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi on Tuesday apologised to legislative council Chairman N S Pharande for the unruly behaviour of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party members, and the insults of Rural Development Minister Anna Dange on Monday.

Joshi's apology, supplemented by Dange's, came after Pharande's threatened to resign from his post.

"I was not inclined to occupy this chair again," Pharande said, adding that he would now overlook Monday's episode.

He said he was mentally distressed by the incident.
