Expelled Loktantrik leader accuses Naresh Agarwal of hatching plot to topple Kalyan

Expelled Loktantrik Congress MLA Pooran Singh Bundela today said the conspiracy to topple the Kalyan Singh government was hatched in Orcha on February 5 at the initiative of party leader Naresh Agarwal.

Bundela told newspersons in Lucknow that Agarwal was "dissatisfied" with Chief Minister Kalyan Singh for not giving him the post of deputy chief minister. This was the motive behind the conspiracy, he alleged.

He said leaders of various parties had gathered in Orcha in Madhya Pradesh for a marriage, but denied that Uttar Pradesh Governor Romesh Bhandari was also there. Bhandari was in Lalitpur the previous day to attend the marriage feast, he added.

Bundela disputed Agarwal's claim that he (Agarwal) was not involved in the conspiracy. All the disgruntled leaders had decided to make Agarwal the chief minister, but Agarwal himself made Jagdambika Pal the leader of the group, he added.

Bundela, flanked by some Congress leaders at the press conference, said he would join the Congress if they invited him to do so.
