Polls kill Clinton's ardour for Delhi tripUnited States President Bill Clinton has put off his February trip to India so as to avoid visiting this country in the midst of an election campaign, White House officials said. The president said he would wait for a "more stable political situation" before travelling to New Delhi. Clinton had tentatively planned to visit India, as well as Bangladesh and Pakistan, from February 10 to February 20. Two weeks ago, he had said the timing of his visit was likely to be deferred until after the vote. UNI |
